Kenya Methodist University (KeMU) is a chartered private Christian University sponsored  by the Methodist Church in Kenya. Reporting to the Principal KeMU-TI, will ensure smooth running of KeMU-TI teaching, learning, assessment, recruitment of students and Marketing of the Programs in the institute. 

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES  

  1. In charge of curriculum implementation within the TVET Centre.
  2. Perform duties of Deputy-principal for the TVET Centre.
  3. Coordinate student recruitment and marketing for programs in the Centre.
  4. Supervise teaching, learning and assessment in the Centre.
  5. Act on behalf of the Centre principal in his/her absence.
  6. Provide assistance to individual students and/or parents with options for TVET
  7. Allocation of teaching Load and timetabling.
  8. Act as Assessment manager for the purpose of External Assessment Coordinate student welfare activities on behalf of the Centre principal.
  9. Provide information sessions for groups of students with regards to TVET Programs, work experience, school-based traineeships, and courses
  10. Lead a collaborative, supportive and dynamic professional environment that encourages positive conversations and effective learning.
  11. Collaborate with the Principal, Heads of Faculty and other middle leaders in the auditing, design and implementation of a whole Institute approach to Curriculum offerings and teaching and learning experiences with a particular emphasis on Vocational Education.
  12. Provide advice, information and assistance to relevant staff regarding documentation and related requirements for teaching TVET courses.
  13. Oversee KeMU-TI collaborative arrangements and compliance with MOUs.
  14. Coordinate and facilitate regular and effective communication with staff and stakeholders.
  15. Perform such other duties as may be assigned by the Centre Principal.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS 

The suitable candidate should have the following qualifications and experience:

  1. Bachelor’s Degree in a relevant field.
  2. At least three (3) years’ work experience in a similar or comparable position preferably in a training institution.
  3. Demonstrate ability to supervise, mentor and provide professional support to other trainers.
  4. Ability to plan student recruitment activities.
  5. Experience in student management and admissions.
  6. Ability to manage people.

Reporting to the Center Principal,

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES  

  1. Act as an Office Assistant to the Centre Manager.

1. Must have an earned Ph.D. degree in Nursing or its equivalent in the relevant field from a recognized academic institution.
2. Must have at least three (3) years of university teaching at the level of a full time Lecturer.
3. Must have at least four (4) articles in refereed journals since becoming a Lecturer.
OR
4. at least one (1) refereed book in candidate’s professional area published by recognized publishers, plus two (2) articles, OR at least (3) distinguished exhibition, performances or original creation, plus one (1) article in a refereed journal since becoming a lecturer.
5. Should show evidence of supervision of postgraduate students.
6. Should have attended and contributed at learned conferences, seminars or workshops.

  3. Proven record of resource mobilization and financial management.
  4. Evidence of professional training in leadership, management and governance.
  5. Experience in institutional leadership that will spearhead the realization of the University Vision.
  6. Have a successful track record in the management of financial, human and physical resources at top management level.
  7. Demonstrate evidence of outstanding communication ability, coupled with excellent presentation skills.
  8. Conversant with national laws, policies in education and National and International Visions.

To strengthen its Academic and Student Affairs Division, KeMU wishes to recruit a suitable applicant to the position of Deputy Vice-Chancellor (Academic and Student Affairs).   7. Analyzing, monitoring and evaluating enterprise profit margins
  8. Oversee the management of catering staff, facilities and services in the University.
  9. Ensure the quality and sufficiency of food and beverage preparation and provision services in the University.
  10. Ensure proper storage of foodstuff in the kitchen store in order to retain their quality and nutritional values and thus meet customers’ nutrition and dietary needs in the University.
  11. Prepare and plan procurement list for all kitchen supplies such as foodstuffs, utensils and other materials for use in the catering services of the University.
  12. Supervise catering and waiting staff together to ensure quality catering services in the University.
  13. Plan University food and beverage menus in consultation with the nutritionist, chefs and cooks, according to customers’ dietary needs in the University.
  14. Supervise food preparation contents, procedures and process in order to ensure that they meet the required standards of hygiene and nutrition for customers in the University.
  15. Ensure public health and sanitation, and safety regulations are strictly observed in order to prevent disease outbreak through food contamination in the University.
  16. Monitor the quantity and quality of service provided by undertaking regular spot checks in the kitchen and other food handling areas of the University.
  17. Ensure maintenance of food stock levels and order new supplies as required in the kitchen and other catering areas of the University
  18. Liaise with suppliers to ensure quality and timely kitchen supplies delivery in the University.
  19. Participate in contracting for kitchen suppliers, assessing their requirements and ensuring they are satisfied with the service delivered (in contract catering).
  20. Ensuring compliance with all fire, licensing, and employment regulations in the University

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS 

The suitable candidate should have the following qualifications and experience:

  1. Diploma in Catering, Hotel Management or an equivalent qualification from a recognized institution
  2. Higher Diploma in Catering, Hotel Management or other Hospitality Services from a recognized institution
  3. Bachelor’s Degree in Hospitality, Hotel Management or Food and Beverages Science from a recognized institution will be an added advantage
  4. Medical Fitness Certificate from Public Health Office
  5. At least five years working experience as a Catering Manager in a reputable institution

i. Must have a Doctorate degree in Medicine or equivalent qualification from a recognized/accredited academic institution; and be registered or registerable with the relevant professional body (where applicable)

ii. Must be a holder of Bachelor of Medicine and Bachelor of Surgery (MBChB)
iii. Must be a holder of Master of Medicine in Anaesthesiology or equivalent
iv. The holder must be duly registered by KMPDC (Kenya Medical Practitioners and Dentists Council) or the equivalent in the EAC countries and hold a retention certificate of the KMPDC.

The Job holder will be responsible for reviewing accounting documents and transactions to ascertain compliance, accuracy, relevance, and reasonableness of the transactions in accordance with the University policies and guidelines.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES  

i. Verification of Procurements documentations to ensure they are in accordance with finance and procurement policies.
