On behalf of Kenya Methodist University, I wish to welcome you to interact with the University through the Directorate of Postgraduate Studies, DPGS. The mandate of the Directorate is providing policy guidance to ensure excellence in research and postgraduate programs. Our key activities include organizing scientific exhibitions, conferences and workshops, publishing journals, training on scientific and grant writing, fundraising, as well as promoting local and international collaboration among others.
The Directorate offers a broad spectrum of postgraduate programs at the Masters and PhD levels including Postgraduate Diplomas, which you might find relevant to advance in. Masters’ programme include:- Business Administration, International Relations, Agricultural and Rural Development, Hospitality and Tourism Management, Education Leadership & Management, Counselling Psychology, Theology, Mission Studies, Religious Studies, Health System Management, Nursing Education, Public Health, Human Nutrition and Dietetics, Computer Science, Information Science, among others. We also offer related PhD programs and Postgraduate Diplomas. All our programs include taught courses, examinations and Research Thesis.
Our postgraduate students go through a vigorous competitive curriculum that seeks to equip the graduates with critical skills such as critical thinking, scientific writing and communication, data analysis among others. These are the go to skills for one to become relevant and stand out in a competitive scholarly world. The country must move from thinking industrialization only but take advantage of its strong human capital to bring about the transformation needed in the society. This human capital should be involved in the structural and daily routines to create a sustainable knowledge based competitive advantage. The future seeks leaders who are agile, adaptable and focused. Future-ready leaders must be able to lead people and leverage technology for advancements. In KeMU, we have tapped into technology advancement to deliver online content through an interactive learning management system to reduce on the costs of movement and enable a wider coverage and inclusivity. Because of the dynamics of todays graduate students in a fast moving world and demanding careers, we have formalized the use of online meetings on ZOOM and GOOGLE to conduct our final oral examination of thesis. We also conduct online trainings for postgraduate students, supervisors and examiners which favors majority of them bearing in mind that our clientele are drawn from Kenya, East Africa and beyond.
