Dr. Allan Kayiza is a consultant paediatrician, lecturer and Chair in the Department of Pediatrics and Child Health at Kenya Methodist University. His expertise spans paediatrics, child health and healthcare quality improvement in resource-limited settings.
Dr. Kayiza is deeply committed to improving child health outcomes through evidence-based clinical care, medical education, and research. His passion lies in developing sustainable solutions to enhance the quality of pediatric healthcare, particularly in underserved communities, ensuring that children not only survive but thrive.
He has been actively involved in mentoring and training medical students, healthcare workers, and early-career researchers in child health and neonatal care. His research interests include cerebral palsy care, newborn health interventions, and child health
Dr. Kayiza has contributed significantly to multiple research projects focused on child health. His work has provided insights into approach and management of visceral leishmaniasis, progressive pseudrheumatoid dysplasia, newborn hearing screening, in addition to understanding of healthcare needs, health-seeking behaviors, and community-driven interventions to improve pediatric health outcomes.
Beyond academia and clinical practice, Dr. Kayiza is actively engaged in community health initiatives, including healthcare workforce development. He a member of the Kenya Paediatric Association advancing pediatric care and advocacy for child health needs in Kenya. .
Dr. Kayiza also serves as a leader, guiding teams in improving clinical practice, resilience, and patient outcomes in paediatric units. His ultimate mission is to drive transformative healthcare interventions that ensure quality pediatric care in resource-limited settings.
