KeMU football team beat JKUAT 2-1 in an interesting University derby on Saturday November 19th 2016 at the Meru ASK showground. Both teams displayed high quality football but KeMU were the masters of the soccer artistry. Albert Nsengu of KeMU scored early in the game with a close rasping shot that could burst the heart of a lion. JKUAT equalized at the start of the first half to put both teams level. Ian Munene scored the winner for KeMU in the last minute to give the hosts a deserved win.

JKUAT reached the finals of the East Africa University Games in 2010 when they were hosted at Kenyatta University only to lose to Strathmore University.
The match between the two scholarly teams was always going to be mouthwatering for the football fans. The friendly match was a testimony to some of the greatest football to be played by some of the finest Universities in football in Kenya. Next weekend the team will play against Ruiri forest rangers.
In the rugby sevens friendly match KeMU pit bulls and JKUAT Cougars settled for a barren draw at Meru teachers college. Both teams met in the finals of last year’s Kenya Rugby Football Union organized Universities league.
On the same day the KeMU basketball team organized an interesting friendly match between International Students and Kenyan students. The game which was used as training and bonding for peaceful coexistence between students was played at the KeMU basketball court.
