The KIKWETU CULTURAL FESTIVAL took place on Friday the 15th of July 2016 afternoon at the KeMU Towers Auditorium. We had local and international cultures represented through cultural wears while various cultural foods were displayed for sampling. The audience danced to various cultural rhythms while there were pieces represented including Chinese Dance, Somali Dance, Congolese Poem etc. In addition, there was a competition on cultural wears and food where Ethiopia scooped position 1, followed by China and Kenya took position 3. There was a special session that incorporated candle lighting and prayers of Peace for our brothers and sisters from South Sudan. Our guests: Mr. David Aduda (Nation Media Group), Prof. Robert Gateru (VC Riara University) and Ms. Elizabeth D. Clement (Education Attaché South Sudan Embassy) emphasized that Diversity is an asset, a strength to development and that prejudices should be done away with because above all, we are one people.
Special Thanks to the AIESEC Organising Committee, KeMU Management, Staff and students body at large for such a successful event.
