Marimanti Center

KeMU Marimanti Center is located in Marimanti Town, in Tharaka South Sub County, Tharaka Nithi County approximately 75 km North of Meru town campus.

It lies on LR    N. Tharaka/Marimanti/3005 and covers 9.47 ha overlooking the Tharaka South District Headquarters to the West,and opposite the Tran Sacco Ltd Bank and Tharaka constituency office along the Marimanti-Nkubu road. The environment is culturally rich, endowed with nature, surrounded by a beautiful landscape and good catchment for Lower eastern Kenya.

The center has robust modern and spacious computer lab that accommodates 30 students with full internet facility as well as wireless internet connectivity.

The programmes offered at the campus include:

  1. Bachelor of Education (SNE, ECED, Primary & Arts options)
  2. Bachelor of Business Administration( to start)
  3. Diploma in Education
  4. Diploma in Business Administration
  5. Diploma in Computer Information Systems

The campus offers other short courses including:-

  1. Certificate county governance leadership & management
  2. Certificate in Information Technology (IT)
  3. Soon introducing certificate in Hospitality and tourism mgmt. & KSL.

The campus offer ODLM services to KeMU students registered in other campuses which include clearance and sitting for trimester exams at the center. The centre has also a stocked reference books section which is updated from time to time.

The Campus is involved in community service and student welfare. It collaborates with ministry of Health, Ministry of Education, Ministry of Agriculture and church congregations in undertaking CSR activities like medical camps, market clean ups, tree planting and welfare activities like donations to the needy especially during drought period . We are also engaged during careers days in learning institutions to give motivation talks and career development. We Partner with both government and Non-government organizations in stakeholders forums, and exhibitions at Sub County and county level.

Currently the campus through the department of education in two Tharaka Sub Counties are collaborating in offering CIT certification for secondary schools students doing computer studies.

On 12th March, 2014; KeMU Marimanti Center carried out a very successful CSR project of market clean up and event was graced by the County Minister of Health of Tharaka Nithi County, Hon. Magdaline Kirema.
