‘Zuri Award’ nomination for Dr. Chao Mbogo

Dr. Chao Mbogo, a Researcher, Lecturer and Mentor, in the department of Computer Science Nairobi campus, has been nominated for the ‘Zuri award’. The ‘Zuri award’ is a recognition by Go Gaga Experiental and Sochin Agency for women and organizations who are doing outstanding work in their communities.

Dr. Chao was nominated for her mentorship work to students of Computer Science, a program she has been running for the last five months. The active mentorship program is based on innovation, professional development, community involvement and scholarship. During the award nomination interview by Go Gaga and Sochin Limited at KeMU on February 21st Dr Chao’s key message was that mentorship changes lives.  Active mentorship rebuilds confidence in learning, rejuvenates excitement among students, and immerses the students in computing world, hence preparing them for it. Some of her student mentees also participated in the interview, speaking about the impact of the mentorship program on them.

KeMU prepares for 2017 KeMUSO Elections

On Thursday 2nd February 2017, KeMU witnessed the swearing in of electoral commission of KeMU (ECK) 2017. The exercise which took place in Main Campus Chapel was duplicated in all KeMU Campuses across the country.

This ushers in the February period where student Governments are dissolved and ECK takes over and engages a series of constitutional undertakings which eventually  culminate in election of new KeMUSO office bearers across the University, on 24th February 2017. The new leaders will be sworn in on Monday 27/2/2017, take office on 28/2/2017, and then all leaders will converge in the Main Campus for two days for leadership induction on 2nd and 3rd of March 2017. KeMU Ranked among the top 3 Private Universities in Kenya

Kenya Methodist University has been Ranked among the top 3 Private Universities in Kenya in the Latest Webometrics report. According to the results published on the Webometrics website, Kenya Methodist University was ranked position 11 in Kenya out of over 130 Public and Private Academic Institutions Ranked. The Webometrics Ranking is the largest and most Authoritative academic ranking of Higher Education Institutions and is aimed at promoting academic web presence and supporting the Open Access initiatives. VC's Address

On Friday, 27th January 2017, our Vice Chancellor, Prof. Henry Kiriamiti had the chance to address the students from Nairobi Campus. In attendance were students from across the board; from 1st year to 4th year students, part-time, full-time, digital campus and diploma students as well. It was a rare but exciting opportunity that both the students and the Vice Chancellor had to interact with each other in an open session of question and answer. Members of Nairobi Campus administration and staff were present as well. Not only was it a chance to openly discuss issues and strategise a way forward together, Prof. Henry Kiriamiti took the chance to take many photos with staff and students. 2017 has started out with the spirit of team effort; strong and continuous feedback from the students alongside the support needed to effect thenecessary change from the Vice Chancellor and the staff at Kenya Methodist University. The student fraternity is the heart of KeMU. “Let us work together and grow together” – a great message delivered by Prof. Henry Kiriamiti.

The VC meets with KeMU Muslim Students

Students from the Muslim community today had the rare opportunity to meet with the vice chancellor Prof. Henry Kiriamiti during his address to KeMU Nairobi Campus students. Muslim students constitute a significant percentage of the largely diverse Nairobi campus. In this light, the Vice Chancellor was pleased to interact with the student representatives as well address any issues they had.

KeMU re-engineers its programmes for quality services

KeMU has partnered with the Centre for Innovative Leadership and Governance (CLIG) to re-engineer its programmes with a goal to further enhance its services and corporate image. The University plans to transform its operations for delivery of quality higher education in a competitive global environment.  CLIG is a consultancy that brings together different experts in the areas of leadership management and governance. For the KeMU initiative, Prof. Olive Mugenda is the team leader who will give mentorship and guidance. The University Council and Management are happy to have this initiative that will drive KeMU to greater heights.

KeMU Team Participates in the DAAD Sponsored Program

KeMU Team led by Dr Risper Orero – Principal Nairobi Campus is participating in the DAAD sponsored MTS program whose objective is to improve the quality of university management and Learning processes.
