Visit to North Sudan Embassy

On the 16th of May, our Assistant Dean of students (Nairobi), our Assistant Chaplain, our Deputy RegistrarAcademic, our Senior Marketing Officer (Nairobi) and a representative from KeMUSO paid a courtesy call to Elsadig Abdalla Elias, Ambassador of North Sudan and Permanent Representative to all UN Offices - Nairobi, it was an honour and a pleasure to fellowship and share with him.

Interestingly, his son is proudly a student at Kenya Methodist University studying DBIT (Diploma in Business and Information Technology) in our Nairobi Campus.

Winning Team Kenya National Drama Festivals 2017

The 2017 National Drama Festivals took place at Kisumu County from 8th to 16th April 2017 in Kisumu Girls, Kisumu Boys, Lions Secondary, Nyamasaria Primary & Tom Mboya Labour College.

Our Drama Club was not left behind; on Tuesday 13th April 2017 they represented the university with a play “Dr. Alfayo” that was staged shortly before the adjudicators could break for lunch at Nyamasaria Primary School.

The core content of the play was well matched will the 2017 festival theme “Enhancing National Values for Development” Which saw the play scoop the following awards:

KeMU Spearheads Partnerships And Value Addition In Service Delivery

Dr. Helmig arrived in Kenya on Tuesday 21st March for an MTS Workshop that ran for ten days, from 20th - 31st March, for the Kenyan Universities at the KICD (Kenya Institute of Cirriculum Development.

Dr. Rainer Helmig has past experience in the implementation of the MTS project in other countries, with rich expertise on 'How to Multiply.' Dr. Helmig is also one of the trainers who hosted the KeMU Task-force during the November-December 2016 seminars in Germany and was instrumental in the development of the MTS: Knowledge Management by Dr. Wanja Tenambergen.

KeMU Christian Fellowship Kesha

Kenya Methodist University’s Christian Fellowship will be holding a worship Experience in the KeMU Auditorium, Nairobi Campus, Friday 24th at 9pm until dawn. It will be a night of restoration through worship!

Marysville School Donates Books to Kemu Library

Vice Chancellor Prof. Kirimi H. Kiriamiti receives quality educational books that were donated to the University through the outgoing Kenya Methodist University Development Association (KeMUDA) Executive Director Rev. Dr. Tom Albright, being a donation to KeMU Library by   Marysville School District, Washington USA. Also present was Rev. Nate Voelker, the incoming KeMUDA Executive Director. Receiving the Books, Prof. Kiriamiti thanked Marysville School District for the generous donation noting that they were of great relevance and resourceful to the staff, students and other library users. He reiterated that he was looking forward for a continuous collaboration with the two institutions

KeMUSO Swearing In and Induction

We recently held elections for leaders among the student body in Kenya Methodist University, KeMUSO that went very well and ended up being a huge success. Last week each campus held handover ceremonies and all our new leaders were sworn in. We were blessed to have smooth elections and handovers as well.

Our newly elected KeMUSO student leaders from each campus met in our main campus last week for their induction. They were taken through their duties, past reports, past progress, discussed strategies, a new vision and mission for the future, introduced themselves to one another and took part in several activities for team building purposes.

‘Zuri Award’ nomination for Dr. Chao Mbogo

Dr. Chao Mbogo, a Researcher, Lecturer and Mentor, in the department of Computer Science Nairobi campus, has been nominated for the ‘Zuri award’. The ‘Zuri award’ is a recognition by Go Gaga Experiental and Sochin Agency for women and organizations who are doing outstanding work in their communities.

Dr. Chao was nominated for her mentorship work to students of Computer Science, a program she has been running for the last five months. The active mentorship program is based on innovation, professional development, community involvement and scholarship. During the award nomination interview by Go Gaga and Sochin Limited at KeMU on February 21st Dr Chao’s key message was that mentorship changes lives.  Active mentorship rebuilds confidence in learning, rejuvenates excitement among students, and immerses the students in computing world, hence preparing them for it. Some of her student mentees also participated in the interview, speaking about the impact of the mentorship program on them.
