All the efforts of the Security Department are aimed at providing a safe and harmonious environment in which our community can thrive. We believe the best way to build a community is to work together.
Preventing crime is a team effort involving the entire KeMU family: staff, faculty, students, neighbors, and our visitors. Our goal is to share accurate information in a timely manner with our community regarding crime, crime prevention, and campus security & safety issues.
Through the active participation in crime prevention by all stakeholders, it is hoped that each of us will make good decisions regarding our own personal safety and the safety of others.
Campus Public Safety and Security personnel provide proactive patrol of the campus and University area designed to detect and deter crime and facilitate a safe environment for the people and property of KeMU. At the Main Campus, the Main Gate is manned 24/7, and periodic checks are made of all University buildings on campus.
Patrol in and around the residence hostels is a priority.
Responding to Incidents
Campus Security Officers respond to a variety of incidents on campus including fire alarms, and reports of criminal activity.
KeMU security works in conjunction with Residence Hall staff, the University administration and local police to enforce and seek compliance with the university regulations, county and national law.
