KeMU Strategic Plan

Rationale for the Strategic Plan 2013-2017

The University, in its growth, is committed to repositioning itself as an Institution of higher learning maintaining the highest standards of teaching, research and community service not only in Kenya, but in the region.

The lessons learnt in the implementation of the 2008 – 2012 Strategic Plan, the promulgation of the new constitution in 2010 in the country, the development of the University Education Act 2012 and the ongoing National commitment on Vision 2030 strategy to transform Kenya into a middle income country make it incumbent upon KeMU to keep pace with the challenges arising from the aforesaid national developments.

There are also other emerging factors such as environmental concerns, competition, infrastructural demands and economic volatility which the University has to cope with.
KeMU desires to be a world class University through offering competitive and market driven programmes and services. This plan therefore, sets out the strategies which the University will undertake towards this Vision.

The Plan also commits the University to relate its programmes, activities and services to the National and international policy Developments and Strategies. It sets out the priority areas for the next five years.
