Kenya Methodist University is attending the Association of African Methodist Institutions of Higher Education (AAMIHE) meeting, at the All Africa Council of Churches Headquarters in Nairobi, Kenya from 25th - 27th March, 2015.
The AAMIHE was formed through the Global Board of Higher Education Ministries, at the meeting held in KeMU Towers in 2013, and consists of the senior administration of Methodist Institutions of Higher Education in Africa i.e. Chancellors, Presidents, Principals, etc.
On March 25th, the meeting was opened by the Presiding Bishop of the Methodist Church in Kenya, Bishop Joseph Ntombura (Chancellor, KeMU), who led the morning devotional in the Jubilee Hall at the Desmond Tutu Conference Centre.
In attendance is the Acting Vice Chancellor Rev. Prof. Peter Mageto, Professor Alice Mutungi (DVC FA), Rev. Dr. Tom Albright (KeMUDA), Rev. Dr. Stephen Kanyaru (Director, University Advancement), Dr. Kaberia (Chairperson, Theology, Religious Studies and Counseling), Mrs. Mary Mwenda (University Advancement), and Ms. Midred Mugambi (Dept. Theology, Religious Studies and Counseling).
During the afternoon session (March 25th), Prof. Alice Mutungi (DVC FA), and Rev. Dr. Tom Albright (KeMUDA) presented on "Fundraising Experiences in the African Context and Needs Assessment", which highlighted the value of the KeMU-KeMUDA partnership and the KeMU's growth so far. This session proved to be informative and inspiring, and ended with the possibility of increased partnerships and opportunities for KeMU.
